NAR Legislative Meetings – A Week in Washington D.C.

While I enjoyed my time representing your property owner rights in the heart of our nation’s capital last week, it is SO good to be back home in Colorado.

As the Northeast District Chairman for the Colorado Association of REALTORS, I was able to attend the National Association of REALTORS Legislative Meetings in D.C. It was good to talk with our Colorado Senators Cory Gardner and Michael Bennett, and my Representative Jared Polis about the issue affecting homeowners. There are some specific topics that we focused on:

• Preservation of the 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange
• Renewal of Federal Flood Insurance and Flood Plain maps
• First Time Homebuyer savings accounts

I really enjoyed my time advocating for all of our rights as homeowners, and will continue to do so here at the local level in Northern Colorado!
